The BRCGS Food Safety (Europe) Awards will recognise the outstanding commitment, support and performance of individuals and organisations who contribute to the development of the BRCGS Standards scheme and the wider food safety industry in the European markets.

Approved Training Partner and Consultant of the Year Award

BRCGS Auditor of the Year - Individual Award

BRCGS Certification Body of the Year Award

BRCGS Certificated Site of the Year Award *This category is applicable to sites certificated against any of our Global Standards.

BRCGS Professional on the Year

 

SCHEDULE

Nominations accepted up to and including 06 January 2022. Finalists will be notified week commencing 17th January 2022.

 

PRIZES

Finalists from each category will be honored during the BRCGS Food Safety Europe 2022 conference.

For each award, there will be one winner, who will receive an award.

The award winners will then receive complimentary registration to the subsequent year’s conference, in this case BRCGS Food Safety Europe 2023.

The award winners will be also recognised via marketing by BRCGS.

 

ENTRY SUBMISSION

All nominations must be submitted by email in the requested format no later than 11:59 PM (GMT), 6th January 2022. Submissions should be sent to events@brcgs.com

All nominations must include the required evidence as outlined in this document.

Incomplete submissions or those that do not follow the submission rules will not be considered.

 

SCORING CRITERIA

Entries will be scored on overall content and the nominee’s demonstrated achievements in:

Contributing significantly to achieving the BRCGS Mission.

Communicating the goals, mission and benefits of the BRCGS Standards scheme to both internal and external stakeholders.

Proving his/her/their understanding and commitment to the BRCGS Standards scheme.

Demonstrating an ongoing personal commitment to improving the awareness of food safety within the European markets.

BRCGS Certificated Site of the Year (serving the European market) 

 

Awarded to a BRCGS certificated site* that has demonstrated excellence in developing and maintaining their BRCGS program, promoted BRCGS certification, and used BRCGS certification to enhance or grow their operations.

Examples could include:

  • Examples of how the nominee works to promote a product safety culture within the organisation, as well as externally; with either supply chain or customers.
  • Letters of reference from business partners, either suppliers or customers, with contact details for verification.


*This category is applicable to sites certificated against any of the BRCGS Standards.

 

BRCGS Certification Body of the Year (serving the European market)

Nominees must be a BRCGS approved certification body, valued by stakeholders, showing ongoing and dedicated support for the Global Standards programme. The Certification Body shall be able to demonstrate that they help stakeholders to implement and achieve BRCGS certification. The winner will have a 5-star KPIs rating

 

Examples could include:

  • Demonstrable growth of audited sites including additional module programs such as the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and Food Safety Culture Excellence.
  • Demonstrable growth of auditor numbers or support in developing competence and consistency within the auditor pool.
  • Demonstrable marketing activities.
  • Publications or white papers promoting BRCGS Standards including programs such as modules.
  • Events held to promote the BRCGS Standards, promote best practice and ensure product safety.
  • Commitment to the development of BRCGS Standards, assisting with the development of material and/or giving continuous feedback.
  • Work carried out with GFSI or others to assist the growth of the BRCGS Standards scheme.

BRCGS Approved Training Partner and Consultant of the Year – Individual or Training Center (serving the European market)

Nominees must show ongoing and dedicated support for the BRCGS program and implementing excellent quality BRCGS training or helping stakeholders to implement and achieve BRCGS certification.

Examples could include:

  • Publications and active marketing that resulted in promoting BRCGS training courses, the Approved Training Partner scheme and registered Consultant scheme.
  • Work carried out with GFSI or others to assist the growth of the BRCGS training courses.
  • Actively promoting BRCGS training and consulting scheme and helping companies to implement the BRCGS Standards.
  • Commitment to the development of BRCGS training courses, assisting with the development of material and/or giving continuous feedback.
  • Delivering excellent classroom training which has improved delegates’ understanding of the subject and enabled them to progress in their roles (please supply delegate feedback or recommendation).

BRCGS Auditor of the Year – Individual (serving the European market)
Nominees, as BRCGS registered auditors, have shown ongoing and dedicated support for the BRCGS Standards program and their stakeholders.


Examples could include:

  • High-scoring results from customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Positive feedback from witness audits and calibration sessions.
  • Examples of how the nominee works within as well as outside the organisation to drive food safety and quality.
  • Demonstration of a significant number of audits performed against the BRCGS Standards scheme.
  • Maximum two letters of reference with one reference from a certification body. All references shall include the contact’s name, address and phone number for verification purposes.
  • Publications that resulted in promoting BRCGS Standards.
  • Commitment to self-improvement giving examples of undertaking independent training, attendance at conferences.
  • Work carried out with GFSI or others to assist the growth of the BRCGS Standards scheme.
  • Actively participate in feedback to BRCGS in developing the certification scheme.

BRCGS Professional on the Year (serving the European market)

Awarded to a BRCGS Professional who can demonstrate how they’ve applied the training embedded in the scheme to benefit themselves, their company and their colleagues. All evidence must be from 2020/21.

 

Examples could include:

  • Evidence of knowledge sharing amongst colleagues and its associated benefits
  • Demonstrating your industry knowledge gained through the BRCGS Professional scheme to promote best practice in product safety management (for example, presenting at relevant industry events, working groups, publications etc)
  • Evidence of new food safety initiatives led at the site
  • Evidence of significantly reducing the identified risks to their product integrity or operation
  • Improved audit grade or evidence that the internal audit process has been improved.
