Food Industry Leader Safely Collects Allergens and Combustible Dust

Nestle faced many challenges during the construction of its Prepared Foods facility in 2002. A top concern was how to safely contain airborne spices and other food ingredients that could cross-contaminate and become a combustible dust risk. Measuring, sorting and mixing produced airborne dust particles that can be food allergens. Camfil designed a dust collection system with stainless steel pickup hoods that leads the combustible and potentially toxic food dust away from the process line.

Inside this case study:

Mitigating combustible food dusts

Preventing cross-contamination

Source capture of dry food ingredients

Safely containing food allergens
