‘The university and the Relief of Leiden are inextricably linked’

Lara Ummels came from Maastricht to study law in Leiden, and never left. She recently joined the board of the 3 October Association. You can’t get more Leiden than that. ‘Leiden has a special place in my heart.’

Help A.L.P.A.C.A.: Ethical Nanobody Research for Better Treatments

Nanobodies are tiny proteins derived from the antibodies that are found in animals such as sharks, camels, and alpacas that can stick to specific targets in the body. They are an incredibly useful tool in research and could help doctors detect and treat diseases better by binding to pathogens and stimulating the immune system.

Special donor makes stroke recovery research possible

How do you ensure that people who have had a stroke get the right therapy at the right time? This is the question researcher Jorit Meesters wants to answer. The aim? For more patients to be able to use their arms and hands again after a stroke.
