The goal of alumnus Dennis Jansen (24) is to make the voice of young people heard in the climate debate. In November he is going to Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt, where the Climate Change Conference is being held. 'I want to be involved in a different way in places where it’s really happening.’

Clusters of galaxies better in view with radio X-ray combination

Through the clever use of two types of telescopes, a team of researchers has produced stunning images of clusters of galaxies. This provides more information about the enormous amounts of energy released around supermassive black holes in clusters.

A more precise estimate for how long modern humans and Neanderthals co-existed

Modern humans and Neanderthals may have co-existed in France and Northern Spain for up to 2,900 years until the Neanderthals disappeared. This is what archaeologists from Leiden University and Cambridge University write in a new publication in Scientific Reports.
