Alumnus Marit Brun makes travel guides with a nod to anthropology

Anthropologist Marit Brun captured Leiden’s student life during her studies, which won her the ‘Best Leiden photo’ competition. She now wants to continue with photography and making travel guides with a nod to anthropology.

In The Netherlands nearly ten thousand children have to deal with the reality of out-of-home placement. This has serious consequences for their well-being. Researcher Anouk Goemans is exploring how children can feel safe and heard and how a trusted support figure can make a difference. Support her research here.

Leiden students develop AI tool for marking assignments

Jeroen van Gessel’s lecturers didn’t always have time for extensive feedback on his written assignments. So, together with tech-savvy friend Menno Hahury, he founded Eduface, a startup to develop an AI teaching assistant. ‘The first users now work three times faster.'
