Active transport & distribution of public space in a post pandemic world

With the UK seeking to emerge from a second wave of Covid-19, it is anticipated there could be a shift in the trends for public transport use. The way public space is distributed and the manner we move around cities is changing, but there is an opportunity for transport planners to use this as a means to unlock active travel with the transition to more sustainable mobility.

Sustainable transport (featuring walking, cycling and public transport as the central tenets) must become an integral part of this response. This latest paper in the series presents the findings looking at the issues faced across the UK, and how they compare internationally. We also present further insights from our recent comprehensive survey of travel habits for people and businesses in the UK.
